Lauren Morgan
Lauren Morgan is a recent graduate of Wright State University with a BFA in Dance. She has performed extensively at La Comedia Dinner Theatre, King’s Island, and with American Entertainment Productions in Columbus. Lauren has choreographed concert works at Wright State as well as RENT with Encore Theatre Company in Dayton, The Wedding Singer at Madison High School and Footloose and Willy Wonka with Summer Youth Theatre in Middletown.
2010 Course Descriptions
Ballet I-Students will learn basic ballet positions and movements, terminology, how to move safely with good alignment (good posture in motion) and develop a sense of musicality. The atmosphere is nurturing with an emphasis on creativity and learning to work respectfully within a group. Attire: leotards and tights, ballet slippers. Skirts over tights are ok too.
Ballet II-Moving at a somewhat fast pace, students continue to learn basic ballet positions and movements, terminology, how to move safely with good alignment, expand movement qualities and develop a sense of musicality. The atmosphere is nurturing with an emphasis on creativity and learning to work respectfully within a group. Attire: leotards and tights, ballet slippers. Skirts over tights are ok too.
Jazz Dance/Musical Theater-A high energy class with a set warm up that will allow the dancers to explore different styles of jazz and musical theater with across the floor and center combinations.
Beginning Tap-The dancers will learn basic tap technique. This includes shuffle, shuffle ball change, flap, flap heel, buffalo, paddle and roll, stomp, stamp, brushes, and scuffs. Depending on the level of the class we may attempt single and double time steps.
