Cheryl Keen

Cheryl is currently the President of the Board of Directors for the YSKP. Cheryl has been an educator of 30 years, program evaluator, and professor of child development. She has a B.S. from Bethany College, and Ed.M. and Ed.D. from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. She has committed her life work to developing, supporting, and understanding civic service on many levels. She co-authored the book, Common Fire: Leading Lives of Commitment in a Complex World (Beacon Press, 1996); an analysis of over 100 interviews that identified common patterns amongst individuals who have made lifelong commitments to service in the face of complexity, diversity and ambiguity citing service learning among youth as a key component. Dr. Keen has served as a Senior Research Fellow to the Bonner Foundation, Dean of Community Learning and faculty member at Antioch College. She is currently on faculty for Walden University’s PhD in Education program.
