Victoria Walters
Victoria has been learning about dance, theatre, and music through individual instruction, classes and workshops since she can remember. Victoria started her physical evolution with dance classes and was in the Columbus Cololina synchronized swimming team. Victoria started learning about Yoga, Visualization and fitness in her early teen years.
in 1995 Victoria was in an accident that caused her major knee surgery and physical trauma. Physical therapy taught Victoria about muscle physiology and skeletal anatomy, as well as the process of rehabilitating and healing. Victoria’s interest had been sparked to continue her physical therapy through step aerobics and weight training, she joined a gym and started teaching aerobics there. In 2000 Victoria moved to New Orleans where she became a full time fitness instructor teaching step aerobics, kick boxing, & weight & resistance training. Victoria interned with heavy weight body builder Noel Authement at his personal training gym while she got certified as a personal trainer through Deep South Alliance.
During this time Victoria’s Yoga practice deepened to help her through intense conditioning. When Victoria moved to Yellow Springs late summer of 2001 she considered the cumulative damage of over training and learned the Pilate’s method and became certified through the Physicalmind Institute. Pilate’s has changed her perspective on anatomy and range of motion and what it takes to has helped her tailor workouts to different body’s and personalities, she had been teaching group classes in Centerville, beavercreek and Yellow Springs as well as train individuals in her studio since 2002. Victoria just completed her master Pilate’s equipment certification with The Physicalmind Institute. Victoria is continuing her education in Ayurveda and working towards a certification in Thai Yoga massage.
