Around the World in 80 Days

A new adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic novel, Around the World in 80 Days highlighted the voices, experiences, dance, dress, and music of local ethnic and emerging new immigrant groups in and around Springfield, OH. This project was a new partnership with the Springfield Arts Council and Springfield StageWorks. Development of the play featured a cultural study and discussion of life in contemporary Springfield for development of the play as well as for rehearsals. Our debut of this production at the Springfield Arts Festival included exciting pageantry staging with giant puppets. This project was made possible with a grant from the Turner Foundation.
